Adventure Travel

Camp Stonewall offers adventure travel options annually.

The overnight option is called S.W.A.T. The philosophy is simple: StoneWall Adventure Team accesses activities we couldn't enjoy on our campus. Participants get exposure to American culture; they enjoy age-appropriate physical challenges alongside the safety of professionals; they try things they may never have tried in other contexts (enjoying the healthy, positive peer pressure of camp!). There are two of these trips offered in summer 2023: July 21-23, and August 4-6; cost is $495 and covers all meals, accommodation, transport, tickets to venues, etc.

A camp stay may not begin with SWAT. It must fall in the middle or at the end of a child's stay.

S.W.A.T. leaves campus after breakfast on Friday; the crew stays overnight in a hotel in the regional area, and returns to campus Saturday night. Participants then go back out for the morning locally on Sunday before returning to campus for the 1-2pm pickup (or return to activities). Kids may call home Friday before travel and Saturday after travel; camper phones do not come on the trip.

When S.W.A.T. runs, campus is closed, so kids either head out on the trip together or they head home that Friday. Some kids staying all summer find these to be excellent "home visit" breaks, as we do not offer a family day on site.

S.W.A.T. is open to all international campers, U.S. ages 12+ to start, and then as we confirm available spaces, made available to younger participants as well. Families who don't wish to include adventure travel, but want their kids to stay for a full weekend, should look at weeks 1-2, 2-3, 3-4, or 5-6.

The Knight Sox is what we're calling our 2023 day trip crew! On Friday, July 7, we will offer an offsite day adventure for any kids who would like to explore more of Boston and American culture. The itinerary is below. The cost of joining this trip is $195, and all meals, activities, and transport are included. However, it is crucial to note that campus is open during this date. Campers can add this trip to their stay if they wish, but a "normal" camp day is absolutely still an option, too!
